For Android developers shipping on Google Play, a new strikethrough pricing feature is there. This way, developers can show the regular price of the app, with a featured sale price. These promotions have increased installs for developers by 3x-20x, and also maintained a lift in sales afterward. These should help get the word out about games. Google also will be doing more to promote high-quality content. Editorial pages on Google Play will allow for hand-selected choices of great games in specific categories to help surface great content. Algorithms are also being readjusted to focus on promoting games with high engagement, not just high downloads.
