is working on adding support for UWB with augmented reality (AR) to the service. Well, today we have some more information on the matter.

, the latest version of the Find My Device app for Android (version 3.1.078-1) has strings of code suggesting how it would use UWB. The code includes these terms:

  1. Turn left
  2. Turn right
  3. The device is behind you
  4. Use the compass to find the device

These terms suggest that Find My Device will use UWB and AR to help you easily find your devices by telling you where to go and where your device is.

Considering that the feature is not live yet, it seems far from being ready. As such, there’s no information about when it will become available to the public. However, when support for UWB goes live in Google Find My Device, Samsung smartphone users will heavily benefit from it.
