Slayaway Camp tells the story of a youth camp built on the remains of an ancient Native burial ground where a prank gone wrong on Thursday the 12th, 1983, has enraged one camper who's now thirsting for revenge. So many 80s slasher movies cliches mashed in one, love it. Instead of playing one of the counselors trying to escape the killer, you take control of Skull Face and later a range of other bizarre killers (including a murderous refrigerator) all reminiscent (within legal boundaries as the website points out) of 80s Slasher Video Classics.
As you can see at the very end of the trailer, the game is a slide 'n play puzzle game (or slide 'n slay as the developers call it) and includes super ultra mega kills animations of death and a patented Raster-Vox Gore Physics technology. And, if you have little ones, the game includes a Mewling Infant Mode that removes offensive content. The game is coming out this Summer, and I'm very excited about this one; if it's wrong that I get all nostalgic seeing heads flying off torsos, then I don't want to be right. If you want to join in on the fun, the game is having an iOS closed beta test that you can sign up .
