Indie developer Somi is no stranger to the world of mobile, having previously released the mirror-flipping puzzler RETSNOM back in October of 2016 as well as the clever faux smartphone hacking game Replica: A Little Temporary Safety . Both titles, and in fact all of Somi’s games including the ones that aren’t available on mobile, always seem to have an emphasis on narrative and telling some surprisingly impactful stories as part of the experience. This looks to be even more pronounced in his latest game The Wake: Mourning Father, Mourning Mother, which launched to a positive reception last summer and will be heading to iOS and Android devices this Friday. This is the third game in what Somi refers to as his “Guilt Trilogy" which includes the aforementioned Replica and the 2019 PC and Nintendo Switch title Legal Dungeon. And yeah, it feels like a fitting name based on the vibe in this trailer for The Wake.
