One UI 7.0 can free up space on your phone using app archiving feature

The first beta version of One UI 7.0 has the app archiving feature. The feature

) lets you temporarily remove an app and its installation files without removing your data related to that app.

This means that you won't lose your data when you temporarily delete an app or game from your phone to free up space. The app will be archived in the cloud. Once you are ready to install the app again, you don't need to sign into it again, and you will have all your data ready.

To use app archiving, open any app's app info screen, and you will find the Archive button. Tap the Archive button, and the app will be archived, freeing up space on your device. Once you are ready to restore the app, you can tap the Restore button.

The app archiving feature needs support from the smartphone maker and the app store. In One UI 7.0, the Google Play Store and the Galaxy Store both support app archiving.

This feature will come to all Galaxy phones and tablets with the stable One UI 7.0 update sometime early next year.
