. Samsung will have a beta testing program for consumers , as it has done every year for previous major One UI upgrades, but the release of the stable version of is set for next year alongside the launch of the Galaxy S25 lineup.
Fans who eagerly await new One UI updates every year are feeling dismayed, and we don’t blame them. But we can’t exactly blame Samsung either, . However, we can blame Samsung for the delay in the release of the latest version of One UI for its smartwatches.
Samsung , well before it announced the new Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra smartwatches (which come preloaded with One UI 6 Watch). The beta was available in the US and Korea, the two markets to which Samsung has almost always restricted beta testing for its smartwatch software.
Like the upcoming One UI update for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, One UI 6 Watch has had a lengthier development period compared to previous One UI Watch updates. But the heavily anticipated day of One UI 6 Watch’s stable release when the update rolled out to the Galaxy Watch 6. Or at least we thought so.
It seems Samsung has only released the stable update for those who were involved in the beta program, and only for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 owners are still waiting. So are Watch 6 users outside the US and Korea.
It’s unclear why Samsung is taking so long to initiate a proper worldwide rollout of the One UI 6 Watch update. With One UI 7.0, it has the excuse of the update . The same goes for One UI 6.1 and One UI 6.1.1 – those updates were packed with several Galaxy AI features.
However, there’s that explains why it is not available for most users already. It almost feels like ever since Samsung announced it would be supporting devices with software updates , the pace at which it releases major new One UI updates has nosedived.
Whether or not this will become the norm going forward remains to be seen. For now, we are hoping the One UI 6 Watch update will start making its way to all eligible smartwatches everywhere around the world soon, preferably with the One UI 7.0 beta update for Galaxy phones and tablets in tow.
