were tested running Android 15 on Geekbench, one of the most popular benchmarking apps for mobile devices, at various points in the last couple of months. The earliest entry is dated June 27, so development on the next major Android and One UI update for these devices has been ongoing for some time.


This doesn't come as a surprise, of course. Samsung releases new versions of Android in the second half of each year, but testing begins months earlier. Adapting new versions of Android and One UI is a time-consuming process, and Samsung likes to get started as quickly as possible.

That's particularly true in 2024. Because of Galaxy AI, even minor One UI updates are now larger than usual. One UI 6.1 needed more time in the oven before making its way to eligible devices. The same appears to be true for
