There has been a lot of controversy around which chipset Samsung will use for the series. A report from South Korea that the brand will exclusively go with Qualcomm’s for the lineup. Then a leak yesterday that the company could also use the in-house developed . While we await concrete information on the matter, today we know how the Galaxy S25, , and the will perform if they use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.
OnePlus’ upcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 13, has been on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. It scored 3,236 points in the single-core test and 10,049 points in the multi-core test. In comparison, the with the for Galaxy scores around 2,200 points in the former and 6,800 points in the latter. So, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has 45% faster single-core performance and 47% faster multi-core performance. Those are very impressive numbers.
Usually, Samsung’s S2X Ultra phones have better cooling capability than most other flagship Android phones, and as we've seen last time, Samsung uses a more powerful version of a Snapdragon chipset for its flagship devices. Both factors should make the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra perform even better than the OnePlus 13. Considering that, you should expect the upcoming lineup of devices to be around 50% faster than the current generation devices, at least in the CPU department.

The phone has scored around 3,400 points in the single-core test and 8,500 points in the multi-core test. That means the A18 Pro is slower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which also means that it will be slower than the Galaxy S25 series smartphones. Now all we want to know is how the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s GPU performs.
