Evolution Flatpick 6 by Orange Tree Samples is a sampled steel-string acoustic guitar instrument designed for realistic flatpicking performances. Featuring a handmade guitar with a full, lively tone, it captures a wide dynamic range, from soft, delicate notes to bright and energetic sustained playing. Its sound makes it suitable for folk, country, bluegrass, and other acoustic music productions.
The instrument was developed in collaboration with Rosewood Recording Company in Utah. Recording engineer Guy Randle used analog audio equipment to shape the guitar's natural tonal character. The library includes both the original recorded signal and an enhanced version, giving users a choice between an unprocessed recording and a more refined sound.
The sampling session featured guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Tilby, whose performance experience includes music festivals and international tours. His work has also appeared in television productions, including programs on the Discovery Channel.

Additional techniques include tapped sustains and body hits, expanding the range of sounds available for realistic guitar arrangements and expressive performances.
The instrument also includes a built-in strumming pattern editor, adjustable pick positioning, and a flexible articulation mapping system. These tools allow players to shape performance behavior and adapt the instrument to different MIDI playing styles.
