Qualcomm shared some interesting news today with the press at CES in Las Vegas and spilled the beans on the first Snapdragon 820 smartphone - the LeTV Le Max Pro. The first announcement was the automotive version of the Snapdragon 820 chip called Snapdragon 820Am. It is capable of processing simultaneously huge amounts of data - it can track the driver's movements via sensors and cameras, output picture on few 4K displays, provide real-time navigation and assistance, among other things. The vanilla smartphone version of the Snapdragon 820 chip was showcased as part of an unlikely pioneer - a phone by the Chinese company LeTV, a relative newcomer to the smartphone market. The Letv Le Max Pro will be featuring the ultrasonic fingerprint technology made possible by the chipset and it will also support WiFi ad. Unfortunately, we didn't get any more details about the phone aside from those tiny bits. In case you need a refresher, the Snapdragon 820 is a departure from the current gen of chipsets, and features a custom-designed 2.2GHz quad-core Kryo processor, a better Adreno 530 GPU, Quick Charge 3.0, tri-band Wi-Fi, LTE Cat.12 connectivity, among many other novelties.
