We've written about REKT [] a , and for good reason. The game's beautiful futuristic aesthetic design combined with an exciting sandbox freedom to just barrel-roll around playgrounds resulted in as 'if Jet Car Stunts had a baby with the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater warehouse level', and I can't really describe REKT any better than that. The emphasis on ridiculous combos, high scores and meticulous exploration from the latter skating series comes across strong at first glance, from grinding rails to making a tremendous leap of faith across a perilous gap between platforms, and maybe REKT can fill the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 void ever since the beloved iPhone port was killed by future iOS updates. At the very least, it looks like a lot of fun, and REKT is finally available to download on the App Store for $1.99 today.
One particular aspect of REKT that has become apparent throughout my short time with the game is how there is so much scope to learn the intricate details of the arena and, in time, string together some radical combos through using the environment rather than simply driving prowess. The sole arena in REKT (more are promised in potential future updates) is pretty extensive, but at the same time an intimate environment that will take numerous failed stunts to discover every tiny detail. Unlockable cars and an emphasis on leaderboards to show off your best run are also nice additions that help to reward pulling off the most daring of tricks, and will hopefully help give that extra bit of longevity that will entice the most skilled drivers to put serious hours into REKT. I'm certainly hooked, and it looks like many of our forum members are too - for more information, as well as first impressions from our mobile gaming community.
