Samsung’s testing a variant of the upcoming running Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which is presumably the version of the operating system that will ship on board the handset when it hits the shelves, reports Galaxy Club.
Citing its internal sources, the publication also revealed that the Galaxy Note 8 has the same aspect ratio (18.5:9) as the recently-launched and , suggesting that the handset has an Infinity Display.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on internals. Although, recent rumors point towards the Galaxy Note 8 sporting an Exynos series (8895) processor, 6GB of RAM and a similar to the one on board the iPhone 7 Plus.
We already know that launch its next flagship smartphone in the second half of 2017, but we don’t have an exact launch date. The fact it’s already entered testing could indicate that it’ll launch at the end of summer.
Samsung’s really going to have to pull out all the stops if it wants to win over the three-to-four million customers that were forced to return their last year after it was left with no other choice but to issue a global recall.
