Samsung union workers in South Korea plan to prolong strike indefinitely until conditions are met

Thousands of Samsung workers in South Korea went on a three-day strike this Monday to press management into offering higher wages and improved working conditions. The first unionized strike in Samsung’s history is led by the National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU) which represents the largest unionized group at Samsung with 30,000 registered members. The NSEU has now declared an “indefinite” strike until its conditions are met and claims it has 6,540 members who have agreed to participate in the strike with workers across facility, manufacturing, and development divisions.
