This week’s packed release schedule is at odds with PlayStation Store’s usually quieter summer season. Not that we’re complaining, mind. First up, our highlights from the week ahead. After which, as usual, it’s the full range of releases you can look forward to on PlayStation Store over the next seven days.
Let’s get to it, shall we?
1. Madden NFL 19: Hall of Fame Edition
As ever, EA Sports continues to refine its digital adaptation of the American sport. This year’s addition to the NFL series includes ameplay improvements both on and off field. If you can’t wait to play, check the Hall of Fame Edition, releasing today on PlayStation Store. It’ll give you three days early access to the game and comes packed with a whole host of extra content.
A heavy dispensation of (manufactured and volatile) joy finally drops onto PS4. In this first-person adventure, explore the deeply unsettling streets of Wellington Wells and survive the attentions of its drugged populace. With a procedurally-generated layout, each playthrough promises a unique experience.
Prep for a second course of the delightfully chaotic cooking multiplayer game. This time extra seasoning comes in the form of online kitchens, letting chefs come together from across the globe. In addition, cookery gets an extra helping of difficulty as new challenges will test you as you chop across a variety of fantastical sculleries.
The brutal yet beautiful action platformer finally makes its mark on PlayStation 4. Guide your whip-fast explorer into the depths of a monster-filled hellscape to do battle. And, this being a rogue-lite, expect death at every turn. But gradually sharpening your skills and unlocking abilities will give you the edge needed to last that little bit longer come each run.
Get a feel for the WWII-inspired world of RPG Valkyria Chronicles 4 ahead of release. While the full game doesn’t drop until 25th September, you can get a taste of its gorgeous watercolour looks and and deep, tactical gameplay this week with the demo.
The demo goodness continues this week with Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, as a trial version of Konami’s football game drops on Wednesday. Choose from 12 clubs and go online for a Quick Match or an offline Exhibition match.
Destiny 2: Forsaken Legendary Collection
Bungie’s shared world shooter is set to introduce its most exciting chapter yet in Forsaken. But get the complete story with the Legendary Collection, which also houses the base game and expansions Curse of Osiris and Warmind.
